Now is the time for the “GREAT LEAP FORWARD”, for “MEHR EUROPA WAGEN” , “GOING FOR MORE EUROPE”.
The communist Chinese “President of Everything”, the “war criminal” Putin, the uncertainty about the possibility of US-unilateralism ( Isolationism went ages ago out of the door with President Monroe), the unveiled threats of the Persian High-Priest SHIA Kakistocracy all point in the same direction. One has to be blind not to see it, stone-deaf not to hear it. It is time for Europe to grow up, it is time for Europeans to take their future well-being into their own hands and to transform the economically very successful EU into a United States of Europe.
It is time for us Europeans to stand shoulder to shoulder – as an equal solid military partner – with our BFF the USA under a common protective security umbrella of NATO to protect the great Western European civilisation, the great way of life and of course no more freeloading on the US-taxpayer. Time and again there were some thoughts about the creation of a USE and about a transatlantic community with the USA but when push should have come to shove nothing very much happened.
At the outbreak of WW2, Britain and France put forward the idea of becoming one nation but given the bad timing nothing happened. Churchill put forward the idea of a USE but then decided that Britain should stay outside for the British Empire to prevail. The all lies based Brexit today is so much self-evident and the very logical conclusion of the British refusal to integrate with Europe. De Gaulle was all in favour of European unity but under the leadership of France, a kind of European protectorate. Come to think of it, Napoleonic Europe all over again.
No one less than Jean Monnet and Robert Schuman were staunch believers, not only in European solidarity and collaboration but also in transatlantic collaboration and solidarity with the USA. Peace for the Americans implies peace on the European continent and peace for the Europeans – as has been proven over and over again – depends first and foremost on solid transatlantic engagement by the USA. The recent proposals for a transatlantic trade and investment deal with the USA came all to nothing and ended all in tears and bad feelings. Again a missed opportunity for true Western solidarity and real transatlantic integration.
In these utmost dangerous times, it is time for Europeans to unite in their very own UNITED STATES OF EUROPE. Together we will stand and overcome, divided we risk to be destroyed one after the other. Read the writings on the wall, keep the heroic Ukrainians in our minds and hearts.
